The Bachelor of Arts in Art History provides a foundation in the history of art and architecture in its cultural and theoretical context. School of Art and Design courses in Art History introduce tools for the making and analysis of art, including the history of works of art, the language of art, and the cultural context for works of art.
WVU is the only public or private institution in West Virginia that offers a BA in art history.
Art History graduates can find employment in a variety of fields ranging from business to education. Their broad background allows them to work in a variety of different professions and careers.
English Language Proficiency
All applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of English language proficiency. WVU accepts either the TOEFL or the IELTS for this purpose. Please see Office of Admissions - English Language Proficiency for more information.
