The master's of science degree in athletic training is completed over a two-year period, although a one-year option is available. Those in the two-year program complete 38 hours of graduate course work, which includes an individual research project, thesis or concentration option. The one-year program requires completion of 35 graduate credit hours.
There will be 12 graduate assistant positions available for the 2016-2017 academic year. The collegiate positions available are with WVU athletics: 12 months (four positions for: Men's Soccer, Swimming and Diving/Rowing, Tennis and Cheerleading, and Volleyball), Fairmont State University (DII) and Waynesburg University (DIII). The FSU and WU positions are for 10 months. The remaining six positions are with WVU Education: 9 months; WVU Club Sports/Intramurals, 9 months; and high schools in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, 10 months (Only one high school is a single A school; the others are AA or AAA.)

Graduate Program Application Requirements
Applicants must arrange for official copies of transcripts and test scores to be sent directly to the WVU Office of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment at PO Box 6510, Morgantown, WV 26506-6510. If being sent by delivery service (Federal Express, UPS, etc) requiring a street address, please use WVU Office of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment, 1500 One Waterfront Place, Morgantown, WV 26501. English Language Proficiency
All applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of English language proficiency. WVU accepts either the TOEFL or the IELTS for this purpose. Please see Office of Admissions - English Language Proficiency for more information.
Only students that have graduated from a Committee on Accredited Athletic Training Education (CAATE) undergraduate athletic training program will be considered.
