The purpose of the program is to enhance students' knowledge in the biomedical and public health disciplines and to help develop and achieve career goals.
The degree spans two consecutive semesters and the entire summer session.
Graduates will be prepared for entrance into professional programs: medicine, dentistry, doctor of physical therapy, physician assistant; entrance into academic graduate programs: PhD, MPH, doctorate in public health; and positions in government and education.

Graduate Program Application Requirements
Applicants must arrange for official copies of transcripts and test scores to be sent directly to the WVU Office of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment at PO Box 6510, Morgantown, WV 26506-6510. If being sent by delivery service (Federal Express, UPS, etc) requiring a street address, please use WVU Office of Graduate Admissions and Recruitment, 1500 One Waterfront Place, Morgantown, WV 26501. The program requirements listed below (if any) are in addition to the main WVU Graduate Application.

English Language Proficiency
All applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of English language proficiency. WVU accepts either the TOEFL or the IELTS for this purpose. Please see Office of Admissions - English Language Proficiency for more information.
Three letters of reference required.
The MS in Health Science has a rolling admissions process. Applications are accepted for either summer and fall semesters. A good guideline for these deadlines is April 15 for summer admissions and July 15 for fall admissions. A priority deadline for a guarantee review of your application is April 1. Although we will do our best to accommodate late applications, we cannot always ensure our ability to do so.
