Program Description

The Multidisciplinary Studies (MDS) program in the WVU College of Education and Human Services offers you the opportunity to design your own program of study tailored to develop the knowledge and skills to help you get the career you want. Develop a breadth of knowledge in your career path by choosing from our array of minors, as well as minors available across campus. The MDS program emphasizes flexibility and problem-solving and helps students learn to use specialized knowledge from individual disciplines to analyze problems from divergent perspectives.

Career Profile

The Bachelor of MDS in the College of Education and Human Services is a gateway for those interested in working with individuals in business, the public sector, education, childcare, recreation centers, nonprofit organizations, health and human services, counseling, social work, psychology, sociology and career services. Or, students may pursue graduate work.

English Language Proficiency

All applicants whose first language is not English must provide proof of English language proficiency. WVU accepts either the TOEFL or the IELTS for this purpose. Please see Office of Admissions - English Language Proficiency for more information.
